Dear Members,

I have been working with Life Care Alliance (meals on wheels) and Faith Mission (serving meals).  I am ready to move forward and get groups of us together and trained to begin our volunteering.

I don’t have specific days set up yet, but am hopeful to get us signed up for one Wednesday a month with Life Care Alliance for a lunch delivery and one Wednesday a month at Faith Mission for dinner serving.  The days and times are not concrete – still working out the kinks.

The delivery and serving are completely voluntary – I realize that schedules are tight and volunteering our time may not be the best fit for your schedules.

As we continue to build relationships with both organizations there will be other opportunities to make contributions.  Faith Mission always has a wish list of items they are looking for – I will provide that from time to time and ask for donated items.

What I need from you now is for you to let me know if you are interested in being added to the volunteer list. Your spouse and/or children are welcome to join us.  I know that the day and time might work for you one month, but not another – that is fine.

I will continue finalizing the details and will start providing dates for your calendars for training/delivery/serving.  If you have any questions on either Life Care Alliance or Faith Mission please let me know.  I have a description below from their websites to give you an idea on who the organizations serve. For additional information on the organizations I have their website below.

A quick overview of each:

  • Faith Mission is known by many as not only a place for a hot meal and a warm bed, but a haven of hope as well. Since 1966, Faith Mission has served the homeless community by offering a secure, Christian-based environment for homeless men and women on an emergency walk-in basis. The agency provides shelter, food and clothing, while helping individuals with access to longer term solutions such as housing, employment assistance, medical, dental and vision care, counseling and support groups. http://faithmissionofohio.org/
  • Meals-on-Wheels provides hot nutritious meals to older adults and chronically ill persons who are unable to provide meals for themselves.  http://www.lifecarealliance.org/

Thank you.
