Position available:  Portfolio Manager

 CapGroup Advisors, LLC (www.thecapgroup.com), a regional investment advisory firm with specialized practices serving the asset management needs of high net worth families and institutional investors, is seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our growing team of investment professionals.

 

Position Summary:

 

The Portfolio Manager (PM) works closely with the firm’s advisors, staff, and strategic partners to provide the highest level of investment advice, service, execution, and monitoring to our clients.  A collaborative, self-motivated leader, the PM is primarily responsible for;

 

·      Creation, execution, and oversight of individual and model portfolios

·      Researching, analyzing, and monitoring underlying investment selections/mangers

·      Communicating the firm’s investment philosophy to clients and effectively partnering with investment committee members/advisors to manage its implementation

·      Working closely with team members and clients to provide solutions and resolve issues 

Necessary Skills:

  • Broad understanding of investment management for high net-worth individuals and families, including asset allocation, taxes, and traditional/alternative asset classes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of roles, responsibilities, and situations
  • Aptitude to quickly learn and master trading/accounting platforms and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – clear, concise, and organized
  • High level PC skills, particularly with data analysis and spreadsheet applications
  • Responsible self-starter, collaborative team player, possessing a positive attitude
  • History of exhibiting a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and judgment 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) – Degree in Business, Finance or Mathematics (preferred)
  • 5+ years financial services experience (required), 10+ years (preferred)
  • CFA, CIMA, or CFP  designation (preferred)
  • Experience working for an RIA, investment manager, or broker-dealer (required)
  • Prior experience as a portfolio manager, financial/research analyst, or trader (preferred)

Financial Advisor (junior level) Job description: 

         Work with existing clients and develop clientele for Fee-Only financial planning and investment firm (with office in Williamsburg, VA)

         Prepare financial plans and financial planning updates for existing and new clients

         Work with team in a office of 3-4 people (including 2 CFPs)

         Prepare Investment Reports (using Portfolio Center Software)

         Maintain client data and analysis (using eMoney Advisor software)

Requirements:

         Bachelor’s Degree + CFP (CPA, CFA, or JD a plus)

         3-5 Years work experience in a financial planning environment.

         Possess initiative and “can do” attitude

         Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

         Ability to multi-task

1. Lead Trainer and Coach within Practice Management Group

Wanted:  Full-time professional who enjoys helping financial advisors achieve their business objectives.  As a lead trainer and coach within the Practice Management Group, you will train and coach financial advisors on how to effectively use MoneyGuidePro and provide them with practice management concepts to enable them to find sales opportunities, improve their performance, and achieve their business objectives.  Training and coaching will be conducted in-person and via web conferencing requiring knowledge of web-conferencing technologies and willingness to travel a third of your time.  In addition, this professional will have the opportunity to consult with firms that use MoneyGuidePro to help them to better understand how to drive adoption and utilization.  This role will require you to collaborate across the firm and will report to the Vice President of Practice Management.

Candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills including public speaking/training experience.  Knowledge of the financial services and financial planning industry, experience developing and delivering financial plans and advice to clients, and a related industry degree or certification is strongly preferred. 

2. Financial Planning Support Team

As a member of the Financial Planning Support Team, you will answer, evaluate, prioritize, and respond to incoming phone, voice mail & email requests from financial advisors using MoneyGuidePro. In addition, Support Team members conduct live, web-based training sessions and work on various projects to improve the support and services we provide to advisors.
