Busy Financial Planning Firm seeking an Associate Financial Advisor to support Senior Advisors in managing existing clients and growth of new client relationships. Associate Advisor will be expected to assist in various projects including portfolio reviews and preparing financial projections using tools such as, but not limited to Microsoft Office software suite and Third Party financial planning software. Thorough computer skills are essential. A basic knowledge of portfolio allocation, investment management, and general financial planning is expected. The Senior Advisors are available to provide mentoring and big picture direction, but Associate Advisor must have the ability to utilize critical thinking skills, work independently and anticipate firm needs and client questions. Position:  Operations Manager

Job Summary: Manages the daily workflow and operations of C&F Investment Services.

Essential Responsibilities:
Anticipates and resolves any client account issues or concerns
Performs account analysis, portfolio reviews, financial plans, and determination of cost basis of client holdings
Assists the president in the on-going service and maintenance of designated client accounts
As a registered representative, provides customer assistance with account maintenance, offers sound financial advice, and proper execution of client transaction requests
Assures client phone calls are answered as a standard practice
Ensures the firm is “audit ready” and consistently operates within compliance guidelines set forth by both C&F Bank Compliance and external controlling regulators such as FINRA and the compliance department of the firm’s broker/dealer
Responsible for the proper maintenance and oversight of all compliance files and records
Reviews all staff continuing education requirements on a quarterly basis and reports any deficiencies to the president
Responsible for monitoring and communicating all operational and compliance policy changes as directed by the firm’s broker/dealer
Reviews daily all previous day trades for issuing and tracking required client trade documentation
Supervises Administrative Assistant position(s) as required
Proactively identifies opportunities for cost containment as well as enhancing the operational efficiency of the daily workflow process
Submits all required operational reports on a timely basis
Profiles the existing client base by asset size and recommends strategies for maximizing penetration of each asset segment
Serves as the firm’s primary liaison with other C&F departments, broker/dealer support services, and vendors
Serves as the firm’s primary information technology officer for all technology upgrades, changes in broker/dealer technological offerings, and selection and implementation of new hardware and software applications
Prepares monthly commission payroll report
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all investment products and services offered to clients
Fully embraces the importance of client “fair dealing and full disclosure” as a vital component of firm policy
Education/Work Experience
Three years of investment operations/administrative experience, financial advisor experience, or banking experience is required (or the attainment of recognized investment industry credentials)
Bachelor’s degree in business, including finance, marketing, or a related field, is strongly preferred
Candidate must become series 7 licensed within 90 days of hire; a professional designation is preferred, but not required
Previous supervisory experience preferred
A combination of experience and education will be considered
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required
A demonstrated understanding of the securities industry or retail brokerage services is also required 
Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point; strong math skills are also required
Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels

Wanted:  Full-time professional who enjoys helping financial advisors achieve their business objectives.  As a lead trainer and coach within the Practice Management Group, you will train and coach financial advisors on how to effectively use MoneyGuidePro and provide them with practice management concepts to enable them to find sales opportunities, improve their performance, and achieve their business objectives.  Training and coaching will be conducted in-person and via web conferencing requiring knowledge of web-conferencing technologies and willingness to travel a third of your time.  In addition, this professional will have the opportunity to consult with firms that use MoneyGuidePro to help them to better understand how to drive adoption and utilization.  This role will require you to collaborate across the firm and will report to the Vice President of Practice Management.
