Volunteer with United Way's Free Tax Campaign!

Last year our 650 volunteers prepared 14,000 tax returns and helped refund $20.7 million to King County. Of that $20.7 million that was refunded, $7 million was refunded as Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC), which is the most effective federal poverty-reduction program for low-income working individuals and families.
The Free Tax Campaign is a great opportunity for Financial Planning professionals to use their finance knowledge and skills to better the community. Volunteers will gain professional experience, interact with diverse populations and give back to their communities. It's fun too!

The Tax Campaign runs from January 15th through April 15th and volunteers are required to commit to one 4-hour weekly shift. We have sites all over King County, but we particularly need volunteers in South King County. We are recruiting tax preparers, public benefits screeners, interpreters and client intake volunteers. No experience is required for any of the positions; we will provide all of the training.
