This presentation has been accepted by CFP Board for two (2) hours of CFP CEUs.

We have scheduled our first program of the new year for as a breakfast meeting on Friday, February 17, reason being, our regularly scheduled February dinner program fell on Valentine's Day. We also thought that it would be a good opportunity to mix it up a bit by making it a breakfast meeting that starts and ends early enough not to take up too much of your work day and perhaps we'd see some folks who ordinarily can't make it to our evening meetings.
 
Debt 911 - could there be a more timely topic for many of us financial professionals and our clients? Please join us on 2/17 to learn from Certified Consumer Credit Counselor and Financial Educator Chris Dlugozima how to educate and help our clients reduce their debt. He'll talk about the many faces of debt consolidation and how to deal with debt collectors. He'll discuss the role of balance transfers and retirement loans and the pros and cons of liquidation plans. Chris will provide negotiating tips and tactics when working with debt reduction agencies and provide specifics regarding debt management plans. Also discussed will be collection agencies and debt buyers, written verifications and settlements. Student loans and collections will be covered as well as the civil lawsuit process, including resources available for defending against creditor lawsuits, preparing for court dates, frozen bank accounts and wage garnishments.

Cancellation Policy: If we must cancel this meeting, an email will be sent to all registrants. If you are unable to check your email, call (877) 816-8400. An announcement will clearly indicate if it is canceled. Except in unusual circumstances, we would know about the cancellation at least 3-5 hours before the meeting. If you need to cancel, let us know by noon on Tuesday, February 7. There will be a $20 charge if you do not give cancellation notice.
