Dear Pro Bono Volunteers,
Thank you for volunteering your valuable time to our chapter’s Pro Bono efforts. We welcome all members who wish to serve on the Pro Bono Committee, who wish to volunteer at our Pro Bono events, or any member who simply wants to voice their opinions or suggestions. No matter how you wish to participate, you will be joined by an engaging and motivated group of fellow financial planning professionals who share a desire to give back to our community.
I would like to thank our previous Director of Pro Bono, Ann Herrero, who has built a solid foundation for us to build on. Ann has formed strong relationships with many community based organizations that are anxious to continue their relationship with us.
An important part of our chapter’s Pro Bono effort is to find the most effective ways for our members to help those who are underserved in our community. By partnering with the appropriate community based organizations we can efficiently reach out to those who can’t afford professional financial planning advice. The challenge is to identify the right community based organizations.
Just as our chapter has experience with various charities and non-profit organizations, so do our individual members. If you have a relationship with a charity or a non-profit, please share your experiences with us. They may be a good fit for the rest of our chapter to get involved with.
Serving as our chapter’s Director of Pro Bono and Public Relations is an honor and a privilege and I am committed both personally and as part of the GHV’s Pro Bono Team to give back.
