Communications/Technology Committee

 MI - Troy Wyman

Chair:  Troy Wyman, CFP®

Goals/Objectives:  Provide a platform that promotes and monitors the continuous messaging between our membership, partners, and prospective members.    Identify and maintain our most effective communication strategies and look for ways to implement innovative approaches through the use of technology.

Strategies:

  • Segment our rich content sources and proactively seek information that will benefit our chapter and its members.     Segments may include:   Chapter Leaders, Committees, Partners, Allied-Professionals, Financial Planning Practitioners, and Prospective Members.
  • Utilize technology platforms that will provide the most efficient distribution of our message.  Current platforms include:  website, blog, email marketing, print/mail.

Action Plan:

  • Maintain current website strategy.   In 6 months, determine vision and strategy for 2013 which may include the migration of our current site hosting to Wordpress – thus combining our blog and website.
  • Implement a FPA of Michigan Blog.  Once established, develop internal processes that will effectively develop and distribution relevant content.
  • Maintain our existing email marketing strategies.  Continually monitor and evolve our email marketing strategies.

Ideal Volunteers:  Demonstrate a strong desire to explore the latest communication and technology trends that affect our chapter and the financial planning profession.  Have graphic design expertise that may be utilized in chapter marketing efforts.  Possess strong editorial skills that may be utilized in evaluating content from various sources.
