Special Needs Trusts
Michelle Diamond, Sr. Vice President & Trust Officer; Karen Ashworth, Vice President & Regional Manager; Jennie Menzie, Vice President & Trust Officer and Joseph Presley, Chairman, President & CEO of Comberland Tust.
Please join us on Wednesday September 17th, for a compelling look at the world of special needs trusts. Michelle Diamond along with a team of experts from Cumberland Trust, will address the issues faced by families with disabled or handicapped family members. Many families do not realize that if they leave an inheritance to a person with special needs (disabled or handicapped) that person often loses his or her government benefits. The primary advantage a special needs trust offers over a direct gift or inheritance is that if arranged properly, the assets in the trust do not actually belong to a beneficiary. In this way, a special needs trust, if properly crafted and administered, can provide benefits to an individual while preventing them from being disqualified for government programs.
