Choose from 1,000s of financial planners, all of whom adhere to FPA's Code of Ethics.
The Financial Planning Association of North Alabama established a partnership with Pathways to develop a financial literacy curriculum for women and children in its shelters, transitional housing and rapid housing programs. There are six classes offered quarterly and the members of FPA train its members and other Pathways volunteers to implement the program.
The average stay in a shelter is approximately three months before mothers move to independent living or to one of the longer–term housing programs, therefore this program provides the necessary tools of everyday budgeting, saving, and insurance.
The program is designed to provide simple techniques and steps that are easy to follow after they have left Pathways. The children's program is essential to the success of the women's program, not only for childcare, but to impact a change that will shape their financial future.
