The Financial Planning Association of North Alabama is hosting the

Birmingham Financial Planning Expo on

October 1, 2013

 Attendees will have the opportunity to attend educational workshops and meet one-on-one with professional financial planners to discuss personal finance questions, concerns, and interests. Volunteers will provide free, no strings attached, advice on topics below and many more.

 

Securities Commission Partners with Financial Planning Association to promote 

Sound Financial Planning 

 

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA (September 23, 2013) The Alabama Securities Commission will participate in a “Financial Planning Expo” with the Financial Planning Association of North Alabama on October 1st, at Rosewood Hall in the Homewood City Hall Building, Homewood, AL.  The schedule of events and details are shown below.  

 

Director Borg said, “This Commission is glad to have the opportunity to partner with FPA professionals and take part in this event to provide information and free materials that will help citizens learn more about financial professional services, making informed investment decisions and learn how to better protect themselves from investment fraud.”

This event is free and open to the public with the mission to help local citizens from the surrounding communities to learn and become aware of the importance of sound financial planning.

A special thank you to the Alabama Securities Commission and Director Borg for helping the FPA to apply for and receive a grant from the Investor Protection Trust, Washington, D.C.  This grant partially sponsors this event.  Director Borg will present information and provide free materials concerning “Tips for Informed and Safe Investing”.

The ASC cautions potential investors to thoroughly scrutinize and research any investment opportunity or offer.
