Gary Speicher, a 25 year member of the Financial Planning Association, is someone you will want to know. Gary has been in the financial services industry for 41 years.
Gary graduated in 1969 from Iowa State University with a degree in Agricultural Journalism, but had already started his career in insurance and investments. Originally from Gladbrook, Iowa, Gary formed his own firm in Cedar Rapids, Financial Planning Services, in 1982.
During his career he earned his CLU and ChFC designations and is a past president of the Eastern Iowa Financial Planning Association and the Cedar Rapids Estate Planning Council. He is a 31-year life member of the Million Dollar Round Table.
Gary’s passion is fishing. In May 2009 Gary won the co-angler division of the FLW Walleye Tour event on Pool 4 of the Mississippi. He has created the website www.walleyewisdom.com. Check it out.

Rich Bradhorst, has been a member of the Financial Planning Association for 25 years. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1969 with a BA in marketing and continued his education receiving an MBA in 1970. He has also attended seminary and is a licensed minister for the Church of the Brethren.
Rich spent 14 years teaching junior high students. He is an adjunct faculty member at Hawkeye Community College. He has spent the last 29 years as a financial advisor and is very proud that he not only teaches and preaches about finances, but actually helps people resolve their financial worries.
Rich’s passion is his family. He also enjoys working to maintain and enhance his acreage and restoring tractors.
John Wayne is the actor most quoted by Rich. Rich is fond of the movie line “I’m not half the man I’d like to be – but twice the man I need to be”. Rich has reminded himself of this line when experiencing difficult situations or needing a boost of confidence.
One bit of wisdom Rich would like to share with others is to be a good steward of every God given talent, ability and gift. Each day you are “burning God’s daylight”.

James Kain, is a 10-year member of the Financial Planning Association. Prior to entering the financial planning profession, Jim was busy educating children. He spent 30 years as an educator and was the principal of a nationally recognized middle school which was also named a State of Iowa Blue Ribbon Middle School.
Jim graduated in 1963 with a BS from South Dakota State University and achieved his MA in 1972 from Winona State College.
His greatest achievement is his family. Jim is very proud of his 3 sons, 3 grandsons and 2 great-granddaughters.
Jim became a financial planner because he wants to help people achieve their financial goals and gets great satisfaction in working with people to achieve their retirement goals. He hopes that people think of him as a good teacher, good listener and trusted advisor.
When Jim is not working, he enjoys golfing and gardening.
Joe Brisben, is a 15-year member of the Financial Planning Association. He received his BA from the University of Chicago and his MA from Drake University. Joe also earned his CFP® designation. He states that his education is on-going and will never be completed. Joe's areas of expertise are in economics and stock & bond analysis.
Joe has 4 children and 4 grandchildren. His passions are in writing, playing music and reading.
Joe says that the main reason he is in the financial services industry is because it's FUN.
