Grants the CFP® mark
The Institute of Life and Pension Advisers was formed in 1981
by senior management in the life assurance industry. In 2000, this
entity evolved into the Financial Planning Institute of Southern
Africa, a nonprofit membership body. FPI's mission is to be the
independent representative body of financial planners and advisers
in South Africa by:
- Maintaining appropriate standards of competence through examination and continuing education.
- Providing a pathway for members to develop the necessary skills
and knowledge.
Maintaining a framework within which its members can help forge and grow the profession of financial planning. - Maintaining ethical standards through the adherence to the FPI Code of Conduct and practice standards.
- Striving for universal recognition as the authoritative voice on all financial planning, advisory and related issues, thereby promoting the interests of consumers.
