FPA & Aetna Join Forces to Launch Plan for Your Health Campaign
FPA and Aetna joined forces in late 2004 to create the public education campaign, Plan for Your Health. The campaign gives consumers tools and information they need to make smart health benefit decisions that help them protect their financial future. FPA Helps People 50 and Over Benefit from Financial Planning
FPA and AARP have joined forces to help educate individuals 50 and over on the importance of financial planning. Through FPA's relationship with AARP, FPA appeared in AARP's first-ever financial planning insert in the AARP Bulletin and Segunda Jeventud's magazines June 2006 issues. The special section included money makeovers that paired up AARP members with FPA members for general financial planning advice. Additionally, FPA's president, president-elect and chair provided answers to many readers' questions. AARP Bulletin reaches 22 million AARP members and Segunda Jeventud reaches 600,000 Spanish-speaking AARP members.
FPA was also selected as one of only two organizations that AARP recommends to their state offices for speaking engagements. To date, FPA has secured speaking engagements with state offices in Atlanta, Michigan and New York. AARP cited FPA's level of professionalism, organizational commitment to volunteerism and trust as the key reasons FPA was chosen.
Lastly, FPA and AARP have partnered to create A Guide for Financial Professionals Working with Retirees. This simple, accessible, straight-forward guide will help financial planning professionals communicate and work with retirees. The guide will be promoted and distributed to FPA members, the financial services industry, financial associations and financial planning professionals in 2008.

FPA and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) are helping physicians begin their journey to financial success. Through its relationship with ACEP, FPA will educate practitioners on a variety of personal financial planning topics by providing guest speakers for ACEP conferences, educational seminars and literature.
Additionally, FPA's PlannerSearch tool is featured on the ACEP Web site in an effort to connect physicians with FPA members who are CFP® professionals. ACEP members will be able to search easily for financial planners in their area by visting the ACEP Web site.
FPA Helps Pharmacists Find Rx for Financial Success
FPA and the American Pharmacists Association™ (APhA) have teamed up to help new pharmacy practitioners discover the value of financial planning. Through its relationship with APhA, FPA will educate practitioners on a variety of personal financial planning topics by providing guest speakers for APhA conferences, educational seminars and literature.
FPA's PlannerSearch tool also is featured on the APhA Web site in an effort to connect new practitioners with CFP professionals. APhA practitioners will be able to search easily for financial planners in their area by visiting the APhA Web site.
JA Worldwide® (Junior Achievement)
FPA recognizes the overwhelming need to educate young people about financial responsibility and we're excited to announce that JA Worldwide® (Junior Achievement) and FPA are partnering to improve financial literacy for America's youth. By partnering with Junior Achievement, FPA hopes to educate America's youth on the benefits of financial planning while at the same time supporting Junior Achievement's core purpose to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.
FPA, working in partnership with Junior Achievement, will provide the bridge between financial literacy and education by teaching kids the financial planning process, their role in the economy and the importance of education to their success in life. FPA and JA Worldwide's national alliance launched during FPA's Financial Planning Week, October 1-7, 2007. The national alliance asks for FPA chapters to work with their local Junior Achievement area offices to make valuable programs available to children around the country by providing an essential educational resource–volunteers. Junior Achievement will provide the training, program materials and support to match FPA volunteers with schools requesting Junior Achievement programs.
FPA & National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Partner to Improve End-of-Life Care
FPA and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization have teamed up to help individuals financially prepare for end-of-life care and to improve the quality of life for themselves and loved ones. Through its relationship with NHPCO, FPA will educate families on a variety of personal financial planning topics including estate planning, advanced directives, insurance benefits and more. FPA will provide guest speakers to deliver presentations at NHPCO hospices, literature on personal finance topics and easy access to FPA's e-mail hotline. Additionally, FPA's PlannerSearch tool is featured on the NHPCO Web site in an effort to connect individuals and their families with CFP professionals. NHPCO consumers will be able to search easily for financial planners in their area by visiting the NHPCO's Caring Connections Web site.
FPA & the North Carolina Department of Commerce Help Workers Financially Prepare for Job Loss
FPA has collaborated with the North Carolina Department of Commerce to offer seminars and literature to displaced workers in North Carolina. Seminars provide financial planning information to help workers prepare for unemployment and outline retirement options for eligible employees. FPA's brochure, How to Survive Financially after a Job Loss, features both FPA and the North Carolina Department of Commerce's logos and is also distributed to help workers financially prepare for the future. FPA Helps Students Step Into the Real World on Solid Financial Ground
FPA's partnership with student loan companies Nellie Mae and Sallie Mae continue this year through a series of financial planning workshops for students at colleges and universities nationwide. FPA provides financial tips to soon-to-be graduates entering the workforce.
FPA and the National Association of Women Business Owners® Join Forces
FPA and the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO®) have combined efforts to incorporate financial literacy into educational programs for NAWBO's 8,000 members.
FPA provides guest speakers for NAWBO conferences and events and NAWBO receives a variety of brochures on the financial planning process to use at their events. In addition, FPA's PlannerSearch and literature are featured on the NAWBO Web site in an effort to connect women business owners with CFP professionals.
During FPA's Financial Planning Week™, October 2-8, 2006, NAWBO President Carol E. Kuc, CMP, and Executive Director Erin M. Fuller, CAE, presented an interactive online presentation addressing the unique issues encountered by women business owners. The seminar, entitled Unique Issues Encountered by Women Entrepreneurs, was offered to members of both organizations and to the public at a discounted rate through FPA's Virtual Learning Center.
