Katy Votava, Ph.D. is founder and President of GOODCARE.com. In this role she applies her in-depth experience as a nurse practitioner, healthcare administrator and educator to the healthcare cost and planning needs for financial advisors and their clients. She is an expert in individual and small business healthcare plans, Medicare, long-term care as well as planning for healthcare in retirement. Votava created the consulting firm of GOODCARE.com® to help financial advisers and their clients all over the United States plan for and manage their healthcare costs. GOODCARE.com® is also an online source for information, resources, and free tools in order to help more people plan and manage  their healthcare costs.

Votava has been featured on the Nightly Business Report, Health.com and speaks frequently on personal healthcare finance. She has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Georgetown University, Washington, DC; a Master of Science as a Nurse Practitioner, and a Ph.D. in Health Economics and Nursing from University of Rochester.  Dr. Katy completed a Pre-doctoral Fellowship in Community and Preventive Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine as well as a Post-doctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
