Experience

Many, many years ago, I began studying financial planning. Unlike the majority of my colleagues, I wanted to actually have the knowledge before practicing financial planning. I studied for my CFP designation and I earned my Masters of Science with an emphasis in financial planning before beginning to work for American Express Financial Advisors in 1992.

After 3 1/2 years with American Express Financial Advisors, I went with an independent firm to be able to offer diversified products. It's a big world out there. Why not look at the world of available products with which to serve my clients?

The true focus of my practice has been service to my clients. We have frequent meetings to go over the portfolio and new goals that may have popped up. My clients use me as their financial resource to call when they buy a car, or even want me to help them decide what payment plan to use to purchase a funeral plot.

Creating a financial plan for people helps me learn detail about their goals, what is available to achieve those goals, and what are some of the road blocks that could potentially hurt them in the future. While not all of my clients have me create a financial plan, many do. I work with clients the way they want to work with me.

My goal is to feel comfortable with my clients and for them to feel the same. We need to communicate with each other on an ongoing basis. Their portfolio may need to change with their changing goals.
