About My Practice
I'm an "independent" financial planner, i.e., I'm not limited to one company's products and services and I don't have production quotas. My only loyalty is to my clients. I'm associated with a firm of financial planners to better serve you. I follow the financial planning "process". We develop realistic goals, assess your current situation, and then develop a specific plan, not some generic plan or model portfolio, to get you where you want to be. The plan integrates retirement, investment, tax, insurance, (college planning if you have children or grandchildren), and estate planning because you can't plan one without affecting the others. The planning process consists of at least three meetings. The first meeting is a "get to know each other" meeting followed by data gathering. It's important to me that we are personally compatible in order to develop the trust and long-term relationship necessary to succeed. A written plan is presented at the second meeting and I prefer that you think about the plan for a week before making any decisions. At the third meeting, we complete any discussions on the plan and begin implementation. After implementation, we meet at least annually to review progress and make necessary adjustments.
