About My Practice

What do you do and how can it help me?
I provide financial planning and investment management services for people just like you.  Planning now will reduce any anxiety you may be feeling about your future.  Professional investment management can break the cycle of emotional investing that causes many people to take the wrong action at the wrong time.

How do you do what you do?
I help you define what future success means to you and then work with you to draw a map (a financial plan) to get you there.  Each financial planning client receives a written plan which may be comprehensive or focused on only those topics which interest you most.   Accounts we manage are monitored through quarterly performance reports and review meetings with you.  You are not required to hire us to manage your investment accounts to gain access to our services.

What kinds of questions do people want help with?

  • How can I manage my cash flow so I can pay my bills, save for later and still enjoy life?
  • How should I invest my 401k contributions?  What about a Roth 401k?
  • I’m getting a late start in saving for retirement – what should I do?
  • Should I convert my IRAs to a Roth IRA?
  • How much should I save for retirement?
  • What do I need to know about Social Security and Medicare?
  • How can I help my children/grandchildren pay for college?
  • What are the best ways to save for retirement?
  • What can I do about future heath care costs?

What about trust?

We are fiduciaries - putting your interests ahead of ours at all times.  We are completely transparent in our disclosure and will provide whatever information you require to make you feel comfortable, including client references.  If we manage accounts for you, all assets are held with third-party custodians such as Charles Schwab, TD Ameritrade, etc. and you have full access to your accounts via secure websites.  All fees and costs are fully disclosed.

What does it cost?
Everyone gets a free one hour meeting to get acquainted.  Financial plans are $500 to $2,500 depending on the scope of the plan.  Investment management is generally 1% of assets under management charged quarterly (1/4 or 1% per quarter) or by flat fee retainer.  Other work such as consulting is by the hour at $150.  There is no minimum account size.
