Parents will learn how to start educating their children on the value of financial planning and how to start planning for higher education. Seminars include:

The Financial Planning Association of Austin will participate in the College & Career Expo 2012 at the Palmer Events Center, 923 Barton Springs Road in Austin, Tex. to help high school students learn more about career opportunities in the financial planning profession. There will be 100+ exhibitors and 3,000 students from 14 Austin-area school districts and partner organizations. Students in classrooms today are our workforce tomorrow. The successful communication of the values and benefits of the financial planning profession is important to help grow the next generation of financial advisers.

The Financial Planning Association of Dallas/Ft.Worth has teamed up with the Dallas Morning News to host a free "Call the CFP®" telephone hotline. Ten experienced CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNING™ practitioners from the Financial Planning Association will be standing by to take your calls and offer advice.
October 13, 2012 (9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
Attend San Antonio Financial Planning Day to get free, no strings attached financial advice from professional financial planners on October 13 at The Neighborhood Place in San Antonio, Tex. The event will feature planners from the Financial Planning Association® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, all volunteering their time and expertise to work with local residents one-on-one to address important financial issues such as budgeting, getting out of debt, income taxes, home foreclosures, paying for college, estate planning, insurance, and much more. Educational workshops will also be offered on key personal finance topics.
San Antonio Financial Planning Day is part of a national Financial Planning Days initiative created by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Financial Planning Association, Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors. The Financial Planning Association of Houston has teamed up with Invesco and the University of Houston for the second consecutive year to offer Financial Boot Camp for Women on October 20 in Cemo Hall at the University of Houston. Attendees will be gain tools and knowledge to take control of their finances via one on one counseling and d personal finance workshops and seminars offered by FPA volunteers, the financial planning experts. Registration fee is $15 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Proceeds will benefit the University of Houston Bauer College of Business scholarships.
