FPA’s Communities of Interest focus on the issues, trends, and research of specific areas within the financial planning profession. With forums to contribute expertise and resources to increase professional effectiveness, FPA’s Communities of Interest offer conversation areas that are relevant to professionals who work in a specialized field, have specific interests, are seeking peers at their professional level, have public policy interests, and much more!

The electronic platform for this new member benefit is called FPA Community Building. FPA Community Building is the next generation of the current electronic conversation area, FPA Connections. FPA Community Building is a robust area that is user-friendly and very intuitive for even the most novice user. The opportunity to participate in discussions, share documents, and collaborate with your peers is at your fingertips.

Get connected. Get informed. Get involved!

FPA Café gives members an option to participate in discussions using a Web browser or by subscribing to a discussion and participating by e-mail. Conversations are organized in main areas. :

  • Journal Voice discussion area addresses talking points from the Journal of Financial Planning’s new, interactive Voice section. Hosted by Shelley Lee.
  • The Profession is a public discussion area that addresses issues relevant to the financial planning profession, like future regulation of financial planning. This conversation has been moved to the new community server.

If you currently serve on any workgroups, committees, etc., your conversations are still occuring in FPA Connections. We will be transitioning these areas to FPA Community Building very soon. Be sure to check back with this page for updates as we progress.
