A Consumer Referral Service for FPA Members

PlannerSearch is an online referral service to assist consumers in finding a financial planner in their area who meets their unique needs. The service allows consumers to search for a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional and preview planner information to determine who is most compatible with their needs.

There are two listing services available through PlannerSearch.

  • Enhanced Listing allows you to provide in-depth information on you and your practice. With the enhanced listing:
    • You can detail your qualifications, experience and your financial planning philosophy.
    • A personalized administrative Web site, "My PlannerSearch," allows you to access information on an as-needed basis on those consumers that conduct searches near you.
    • The system generates e-mails to you on the night following a consumer search that has directly matched your zip code or city, state.
    • A professional photograph and/or company logo may be added to draw additional attention to your listing.
    • You are provided with a monthly turn-key consumer electronic newsletter, PlanSmart, that can be sent to current and prospective clients.
    • You get priority listing on search results pages.
    • Your contact information including, address, city, state, phone and fax numbers is provided to consumers.
    • A consumer may contact you via e-mail through the PlannerSearch system.
    • You are recognized as a CFP® certificant and member of FPA.
    The cost for the enhanced listing service is only $99 annually. The subscription fees are redirected back into a consumer advertising campaign for PlannerSearch, which will in turn direct more consumers to the site and, ultimately, your business. Only FPA members are eligible to participate in this service and each participating member must also be a CFP® certificant.

  • Basic Listing includes:
    • Your contact information including address, city, state, phone and fax numbers.
    • The opportunity for a consumer to e-mail you through the system.
    • Recognition as a CFP® certificant and member of FPA.
    PlannerSearch is a benefit of FPA membership and there is no cost for a basic listing. However, only CFP® certificants are eligible to participate and must opt-in to this program.
