Volunteer with FPA
FPA offers a variety of opportunities where you can provide your support and expertise to advance key initiatives for our profession. Volunteers are at the heart of FPA's work - providing exceptional experiences and essential tools to our community of CFP® practitioners, allied professionals and all those who support the financial planning profession.
- National Committees: FPA offers a variety of committees each year that focus on key areas that support the financial planning profession and the CFP® practitioner, including advocacy, practice management, education, community building, diversity and more. Recruitment for committees usually begins in the fall for service during the following year. Please check back during this time to learn about opportunities for next year.
- FPA National Board: If you are interested in serving on FPA's national board of directors, you can learn more about the opportunity here. The application process for board service generally occurs in the second quarter of the calendar year (for service beginning the following year). FPA will post the specific dates for applying in a variety of communications (e-mail, social media, FPA Connect, etc.).
- Local Chapter: FPA's chapters offer many local volunteer opportunities, such as helping out at a pro bono event, volunteering for committees or for the local board. Connect with your local chapter today to get involved in your area.
- Practice management blog: FPA often seeks new perspectives for its practice management blog. If you are interested in becoming a blogger, please email us.
