Time Commitment: one- to- four times per year, depending on location

Consumer Blog Team (All Things Financial Planning Blog)
Staff Contacts: Public Awareness
Description: As a contributor to the Consumer Blog, bloggers create and submit blog posts
Size of Group: 15 Volunteers
Time Commitment: regularly either one- to- four times per month for three- to- six months
Qualifications for Service: To participate on the Consumer Blog Team, the volunteer must be an FPA member in good standing and a financial planning practitioner.
Selection Process: Volunteers are selected based on member interest. FPA members who are trying to promote their business, services and/or products via FPA’s consumer initiative should not be part of the Consumer Blog Team.
Recruitment Time Frame: New members are recruited quarterly Oct/Jan/Apr/Jul

Consumer Content Review Board
Staff Contacts: Public Awareness
Description: The Consumer Review Board (CRB) is responsible for reviewing weekly new content submissions from our member content submission program and other contributors.
Size of Group: 5 Volunteers
Time Commitment: Weekly article, tip, guide, etc and other consumer content review.
Qualifications for Service: To participate in the CRB, the volunteer must be FPA members in good standing and a financial planning practitioner.
Selection Process: Volunteers are selected based on member interest. Many volunteers either participate on FPA’s board or attend FPA national meetings and have expressed their desire to support FPA’s consumer initiatives. FPA members who are trying to promote their business, services and/or products via FPA’s consumer initiative should not be part of the CRB. For additional information or to volunteer. Consumer Content Submission Program

Description: Write consumer articles, tips, guides and other content for our consumer facing fpanet.org site.
Qualifications: To submit consumer content for the FPA website, the volunteer must be an FPA member in good standing and a financial planning practitioner.
Selection process: Your submitted content will pass through the peer driven Consumer Content Review Board and you will be notified if your submission will be published. Also, volunteer to be included in our stable of writers and submit content on a regular basis. For additional information or to volunteer. Consumer Education Speaking Opportunities
Staff Contact: Public Awareness
Description: Speak to employees, professionals, students and other groups on various financial planning topics.
Qualifications for service: An individual member must also meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be a national Board member
- Be a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional
- Serve on the board of directors for an FPA recognized chapter
Additional Information: FPA agrees to:
- Provide the FPA member speaker with a written speech and PowerPoint presentation to present at the event.
- In the event that a written speech and PowerPoint presentation isn’t available on the specified topic, FPA will work with the FPA member speaker and a speechwriter to draft the presentation.
- Reimburse the FPA member speaker for expenses incurred traveling to and from the event.
- Provide the FPA member speaker with brochures and materials to provide to event attendees.

Journal of Financial Planning Editorial Review Board
Staff Contact: Melanie Stafford
Description: Provide expert review of technical articles, usually not more than one or two a month. Verify technical information, contribution to the literature, not oriented to proofreading or copyediting.

Practice Management Center blogger

Description: Submit a blog post (fewer than 500 words) related to practice management (running a successful financial planning business) and fitting into one of the following categories: marketing, client skills, technology, HR/staff, compliance, operations
Time Commitment: Blog as needed
Term of Service: Ongoing
