Career Development Committee — Focuses on how to best serve individuals who want to enter and grow careers in financial planning. Activities include engaging FPA chapters in grass root activities/events such as developing an annual career day and starting FPA student chapters. Staff liaisons: Jaleen Edwards or Anna Gengler
Diversity Committee – Is a work group that engages in interactive dialog to raise awareness of and develop specific strategies to increase opportunities for people of diverse color, gender, ethnic and sexual orientation to learn about, enter and thrive in the financial planning profession. The group also focuses on developing resources for FPA members and all financial planners accommodate a more diverse client base. Staff liaisons: Christine Richardson and Lauren Schadle
Ethics Committee (individual members) — Is charged by the FPA Board of Directors to review alleged violations of the FPA Code of Ethics by FPA members. The committee also advises staff on ways to enhance awareness by FPA members of their obligations under the Code. Staff liaison: David Cohen
Government Relations Committee — Provides oversight and direction to FPA's legal, legislative and regulatory efforts on public policy issues affecting financial planners and consumers. Staff liaisons: Dan Barry
Institutional Ethics Committee (firms) — Reviews alleged infractions of the FPA Code of Conduct by FPA institutional members and approves Institutional member firms for the FPA Alliance Recognition Program. Staff liaison: Jaleen Edwards
Pro Bono Advisory Committee — Works together with FPA staff to establish guidelines for FPA pro bono programs, develop resources for use by chapters and volunteers, and mentor chapter leaders on the development of local initiatives. Staff liaison: Amira Tart
Professional Issues Committee — Prepares FPA positions on professional developments that affect FPA members. The committee analyses industry proposals that directly affect CFP certificants and their practices to develop a formal position and provide input on behalf of FPA members. Staff liaison: Dan Barry
Tax and Retirement Committee — Provides oversight and direction to FPA positions on tax and retirement legislation at both the federal and state levels of government that affect FPA members. Staff liaison: Phillips Hinch
