FPA 2012 Diversity Summit
Communiating for a Diverse Tomorrow:
Diversity Management in your Financial Planning Practice
September 29, 2012

The American marketplace is becoming increasingly diverse rapidly. For today’s financial planner to be successful, they must be able to communicate with a variety of clients, using effective techniques and mediums. Successfully targeting diverse audiences can result in an increased client base and more successful relationships.

Diversity management is not just about gender and race relations: it’s about leveraging different ideas, perspectives, backgrounds and experiences to achieve the best possible outcome.

Join us for a three-session program to realizing the potential of diversity management and communication in financial planning:

10:00 - 10:15 a.m.  Introduction

10:15 – 11:15 a.m.

“Keys to Communicating With the New American Marketplace” – Join Laura Sonderup to learn how America is rapidly moving from "e pluribus unum" (out of many ... one) to an authentically hybrid nation and multiculturalism is redefining what it means to be American today. Today’s successful financial planners have acknowledged the fact that diversity is now a mandatory consideration; however, how do you effectively communicate with these audiences when clients speak different languages, have different customs and values or otherwise diverge from the “typical client”?
