FPA Conference (face-to-face) Speaker Selection Process:

The educational content for FPA live conferences are developed through a volunteer conference task force.  FPA's current list of conferences includes:

  • Business Solutions:  Held in late winter, this advanced practice management conference for financial planners focuses on the core competencies every business faces: sales and marketing, human resource management, compliance, technology and leadership. This program is designed for planners, operational staff and associated professionals of all career stages.

  • Retreat:  Held in the spring, Retreat delves into the depths of advanced financial planning concepts, allows for reflection and deeper thinking while challenging the mind, and encompasses educational vigor cultivating the body of knowledge within  the profession. The best and the brightest of the profession are attracted to this event.

  • Annual Conference:  Held in the early fall, this pinnacle event provides high-quality, unbiased education:  from technical nuts-and-bolts, to back-office compliance-focused issues, to client communication, to investment strategies, this conference offers the opportunity for professional development, regardless of career level or career path.  This conference represents the culmination of all that FPA represents and attracts attendance from the practitioner to associated professional to large firms.

Conference Timelines:

Selection of topics and identification of speakers is based on the conference theme and core audience. The process of identifying the topics, speakers and subject matter begins approximately 15 months prior to the conference and is based on needs, issues and trends affecting the financial planning profession.   Information contained in the Speaker Directory will be sourced for each conference and speakers or topics that fit the needs of a particular conference will be reviewed by the conference task force for consideration.  If your submission is considered for an FPA conference, FPA will contact you directly. 


FPA Virtual Learning Center (Webinar) Speaker Selection Process:

FPA delivers approximately 80 virtual education sessions per year. Educational content focuses on technical knowledge, practice management and current issues. Selection of topics and identification of speakers is based on needs, issues and trends affecting the financial planning profession. Live Webinars and downloadable only content are delivered on a monthly basis. If your submission is considered for the FPA Virtual Learning Center, FPA will contact you directly.
