Guiding Values

Competence

In addition to continually seeking understanding of the research field and financial services industry, we also work with partners and consultants of the highest caliber.

Integrity

We strive for impeccable data and reliable results.

Relationships

We value our partners in research and are committed to developing open, inclusive and respectful relationships with all parties we work with.

Stewardship

Our commitment to stewardship requires not only a conscious respect and protection of those who participate in our research, but also a focus on distribution of data and supporting resources to consumers, planners and companies who can benefit from our knowledge.

Research History

FPA has been conducting research since it was formed in 2000. This research has been used for the benefit of the association and has included both consumer and adviser research. In 2007, the FPA Research Center was formed for the purpose of extending our knowledge and resources to the entire financial planning sector.

Methodology

As FPA is a not-for-profit association, it is uniquely positioned in the financial planning sector and does not have a hidden agenda for its research or products that would influence the data in a way that could cloud results. Additionally, we have more than 28,000 members who we survey, which provides a comprehensive view of the independent adviser channel.
