About the Program
Emerging market equities have been one of the best performing asset categories since the market hit bottom in March 2008. They've also produced spectacular performance for the last decade, achieving an average annual return of over 13%, compared to the S&P 500's 1.4% return over the same time period. Can this type of performance continue? This presentation will review the backdrop for continued strong performance from emerging markets, and will paint the strategic case for continued healthy allocations to these high growth regions. We will review EM characteristics (GDP growth, population, market cap trends) from an historic perspective and how they look today, as well as how some investment experts think they may look in the future. We will also look at how "blurry" the distinction between many emerging markets and developed markets is becoming, and offer a new method for allocating equity assets around the world. Finally, the presenter will show how she is allocating to these high growth regions on behalf of her clients.
