Denver, Colo. – The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) today announced the speakers who will keynote FPA Experience 2011, the annual conference of the financial planning community, to be held Sept. 15-18 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Frank W. Abagnale, a respected authority on the subjects of forgery, embezzlement and secure documents, will kick off the conference on Thursday, Sept. 15, with his speech “Catch Me if You Can”. Abagnale has lectured to and consulted with hundreds of financial institutions, corporations and government agencies around the world. Abagnale has been associated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for more than 35 years and lectures extensively at its Academy and field offices.
On Friday, Sept. 16, renowned economic expert and scholar Alicia Munnell, will bring her unique perspective to thousands of conference attendees. Munnell is the Peter F. Drucker Professor of Management Sciences at Boston College's Carroll School of Management. She also directs the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. Munnell has published many articles, authored numerous books, and edited several volumes on tax policy, Social Security, public and private pensions, and productivity. Munnell earned a master’s degree from Boston University, and holds a doctorate from Harvard University.
On Saturday, Sept. 17, William C. Taylor will take the stage to deliver the closing keynote of the conference titled “Practically Radical: Unleashing Big Change in Tough Times.” Taylor is a writer, speaker and entrepreneur who has helped shape the global conversation about the best ways to compete, innovate and succeed. Taylor's recently published book, “Practically Radical: Not-So-Crazy Ways to Transform Your Company, Shake Up Your Industry, and Challenge Yourself,” was hailed by Daniel H. Pink as "the most powerful and instructive change manual you'll ever read."
FPA Experience 2011 continues the association’s tradition of providing thought- provoking speakers, tremendous networking and community opportunities, and a diverse slate of education tracks.
Discounted conference registration is offered through August 5, 2011: $699 for FPA members; $959 non-members. After this date, registration fees increase to $879 for FPA members and $1,159 for non-members.
