Valerie Porter, CFP® and James Tissot, CFP® to Bring Practical and Hands-on Expertise to FPA
DENVER – The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) today announced that Valerie L. Porter, CFP® and James Tissot, CFP® will join its team as dedicated consultants and will bring their collective experience as CFP® practitioners to the organization’s practice management and educational initiatives. As contributors, they will be closely involved in the planning, integration and execution of FPA’s knowledge and learning assets.

Porter is Founder and President of SummitView Financial, a comprehensive financial planning and investment management firm with offices in Indianapolis and Richmond. A former teacher, she is a sought-after presenter for sessions on goal setting, personal growth, practice management and key areas of financial planning. She was most recently chair of FPA of Greater Indiana and also serves in a variety of roles for local community organizations. Porter holds a B.A. from the University of Florida.
Tissot is an experienced educator and president of Prism Planning, Inc. in New York City. He is an accomplished writer and editor and has been a longtime instructor for Keir Educational Resources. Tissot most recently served on FPA’s national board of directors, has participated on the FPA Chapter Leaders Resource Council and been the national board liaison to the Chapter Leaders Conference task force. He has served FPA of New York in a variety of leadership roles including as its Director of CFP® Education and chapter President and has played a key role in local and national pro bono initiatives. Tissot has a B.S. in finance from the State University of New York.
